Cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) is a kind of polyethylene whose macromolecular chain produced the reactive free radicals or functional groups by radiation and chemical methods. As a result, new chemical bonds of XLPE,which make the molecular structure of polyethylene change from general linear structure to three-dimensional network structure to obtain the properties of high strength, creep resistance, temperature resistance, high temperature resistance, greatly improved insulation and other properties, are formed between the macromolecular chains.
